Cadgets Turn To A Highlander

"Turner"

Turner has come a long way, and we hope that he goes a lot further. In February of 2005, in Cloverdale, British Columbia, Turner earned his first points going Best of Winners under Judge John Kearly. In April of the same year, he went Reserve Winners and was awarded Best Puppy in Breed under Peter Machen. He hasn't been back to Canada yet, and ended 2005 with 6 points toward his Canadian Championship.

Showing in AKC conformation in 2005, Turner caught the eye of Betty J. Duding, and earned his first American points in May. He hasn't been shown much, so I am happy with several Reserve awards for 2005, including a very special one in September at the Wenatchee Kennel Club show, where my "new" dog, Country Oak's Charlie Brown and Turner were both being considered for Winners Dog the same day! My heart was pounding, and I had a hard time holding still - I wanted BOTH dogs to win, but which did I want more? Judge Stephan J. Hubbell decided that 'Chance' would take the points that day by going Winner's Dog (ending up as Best of Winners), and Turner came in Reserve! I am confident that Turner will earn his Championship points, and end up with Canadian as well as AKC CH titles.

UPDATE!! Turner has earned his Canadian Championship! He needed 4 points when we arrived at Cloverdale, BC on March 4th, 2006. We spent an extremely cold night in the van, because "mom" failed to pack enough bedding! The windows were iced over when we woke up the next morning. Geez - and we call this "fun"!! I guess it was worth it, though. Turner took Winners Dog that day, earning 2 of the 4 points he needed for his Championship. The following day was glorious - Turner got 4 points by taking Winners Dog, and going on to Best of Breed, as well as Best of Bred By. We are happy, to say the least! Now to just get his AKC Championship title to finish him off! Wish us luck!

Looking a bit scraggly, but nice, nonetheless

Hmmm-Is he trying to tell me something?
