Country Oak's Charlie Brown

Update on "Chance": he is now living with his new family in

Bellingham, WA., and we're hoping he will be finishing his

championship very soon!

Chance" is one awesome boy! When my new friend, Cheryl Clark, suggested that we could co-own this beautiful boy, I practically jumped at the chance to do just that! There were obstacles to overcome with Chance, though. He was 2 years old, and hadn't been taught anything!! His sire is the famous  "CH. Wise's Little Big Man" who I had admired for quite some time. I feel very lucky to have access to this boy, and he has made us extremely proud. He was entered in the PAPS Specialty (Enumclaw, Washington) in August of 2005 for his introduction to the conformation ring. While he did catch the judge's eye that day, my fumbling ruined his chances of winning. We made some changes for the following day at the All Breed show, and Wow! Can this guy strut his stuff! He is extremely flashy, and has the correct Papillon coat that is so easy to care for. Judge Marilyn Mayfield was quite taken with Chance's charm, and awarded him "Best of Winners" for a 4 point major.  A month later we entered him at the Wenatchee, Washington show, and there was simply no denying this dog's happy-go-lucky, glad-to-meet-you attitude. Judge Stephan J. Hubbell chose him for Best of Winners for his next major. What a relief to have those out of the way so soon! With our busy lives, we haven't been able to enter him in any more shows, but will see what this guy's future brings!

August, 2005 - 2nd day EVER in the ring, and earning a 4 point major! Thank you, Marilyn Mayfield.

Sittin' pretty in the backyard, his first day at my house.

Chance has sired a couple of litters since he's been in Washington, and I am proud to say that we have two show "hopefuls" at the time of this writing that is being watched very closely. I hope we have an announcement in the very near future about these dogs!
